Participants needed for IMX workshop: “Understanding Human Reasoning and Sensegiving About AI-Generated Media”
ACM IMX 2026 Workshop — June 9th, 2026
Overview
As AI-generated images and videos become increasingly plausible, understanding how humans recognise, or fail to recognise, AI-generated media is essential for designing future civic well-being, literacy interventions, and trust frameworks. This workshop invites researchers, designers, educators, and practitioners to explore the cognitive, perceptual, and social processes behind this sensemaking and sensegiving, which is reshaping our shared realities. Using hands-on analysis of AI/Non-AI-generated media, participants will map reasoning strategies, identify challenges, and co-develop new directions for research and design.
We ask for people who have an interest or expertise in one of the following areas AI areas:
- Human reasoning and heuristics in identifying synthetic media
